June's edition of Spotlight on Brittany takes the listener to Quimper, one of the most attractive towns in Brittany. We hear about the town in general, and some of its highlights, from Gregory Vignal, who works in the Tourist Office, before making our way to the oldest part of town, where the pottery which made the town so rich, was founded. Isabelle Dubourg shows us around, and explains why the earthenware of Quimper is known throughout the world. The Director of the Faience Museum, Bernard Verlingue, talks to us about its extensive collection and its history, and Sophie Kervran, the curator of the Musée des Beaux Arts gives us an insight into the artistic heritage of the town. Join us for an out-and-about in Quimper, in preparation perhaps of a visit this summer.
